Revitalisation of Railway Line no. 139 at Bielsko Biała Lipnik – Wilkowice Bystra Section

Revitalisation of railway line no. 139 at Bielsko Biała Lipnik – Wilkowice Bystra section under the investment task called “Works at the Railway Line no. 139 at Czechowice Dziedzice – Bielsko Biała – Zwardoń (Polish Border) Section”

This investment comprised replacement of 16 km of tracks and 16 slip switches, 29 engineering structures, railroad traffic control devices, overhead catenary system and passenger infrastructure.

The task called “Revitalisation of Railway Line no. 139 at Bielsko Biała Lipnik – Wilkowice Bystra Section” covered e.g.

  • the development of design documents, including building permit designs, detailed designs and post-completion designs,
  • Obtaining decisions and permits required to execute the task,
  • Surface replacement, including breakstone supplementation:

— in track no. 1 — 7.609 km of the track

— in track no. 2 — 7.507 km of the track                 Total length: 16.103 km of the track

— in track no. 3 — 0.987 km of the track

  • Installation of 14 slip switches,
  • Liquidation of 2 slip switches,
  • Replacement of track tangents,
  • Installation of buffer stops,
  • Mechanical cleaning of ballast — ca. 15.050 km of the track altogether,
  • Tamping of tracks and slip switches, track location adjustment horizontally and vertically according to the designed gradeline — ca. 16.190 km of the track altogether,
  • Ballast shoulder cutting — ca. 15.690 km of the track altogether,
  • Reshaping embankments at the length of ca. 6.685 m and cutting at the length of ca. 2.966 m,
  • Felling trees and shrubs,
  • Trackbed reinforcement,
  • Clearing of ditches and water discharge from ponds,
  • Reconstruction of side ditches,
  • Revitalisation of 29 engineering structures,
  • Redevelopment of the railway and road surface at 9 level crossings, including the installation of their wellpoint system,
  • Demolition of the existing passages: 4,
  • Demolition of 7 existing platforms and 12 platform canopies, dismounting platform fitout components,
  • Construction of 7 new platforms, including landscape structures, platform canopies, passenger information components, multi-opening cable ducting,
  • Redevelopment/construction of access routes to the platform,
  • Redevelopment of the external lighting on platforms and access roads to the platforms,
  • Dismounting/installation of the clock system, speaker system, electronic information boards,
  • Redevelopment of the rail automation and telecommunications devices at the station and branch stations and at 11 level crossings,
  • Redevelopment of the overhead catenary system,
  • Redevelopment of the external lighting within yard throats,
  • Installation/redevelopment of external lighting at 5 crossings, replacement of lighting fixtures at 6 crossings,
  • Redevelopment of point heaters at 16 crossings,
  • Installation of rail signs, kilometre and hectometre location markers.
