Modernisation of 16 engineering structures at Pilichowice – Olszamowice route” under the project called “Modernisation of Railway Line no. 4 Central Railway Main Line, stage 2”

The modernisation of 16 engineering structures is carried out by the consortium composed of Intop Warszawa Sp. z o.o. (Leader) and SARINŻ Sp. z o.o. (Partner). The structures included in the task:

  • Culverts in km: 106.872; 108.233; 110.584; 114.049; 114.361; 116.883; 117.775; 119.842; 122.285; 122.482
  • Rail-over-road bridges in km: 108.779; 113.161
  • Bridges in km: 108.654; 117.216; 120.954; 113.449

The contract comprises engineering works, reconstruction of drainage system and removal of trees and shrubs.

The method statement provides for the execution of all building works on the structures in two stages, using the partial closure method of the work execution:

Stage I — building works during all-day closures in track no. 1, with a simultaneous traffic in track no. 2, with the train speed of 120 km/h.

Stage II — building works during all-day closures in track no. 2, with a simultaneous traffic in track no. 1, with the train speed of 120 km/h.

 

  • Culvert in km 106.872

Redevelopment of the engineering structure — a two-opening culvert in km 106.872, with the effective length of 2x22.70 m, horizontal clearance 2x1.50 m and vertical clearance 1.50 m. The demolition of the existing structure with its facilities and the construction of a new culvert from pre-cast box components in its place.

  • Culvert in km 108.233

Revitalisation of the engineering structure — a three-opening culvert in km 108.233, with the effective length 3x29.93 m, horizontal clearance 3x2.00 m and vertical clearance 2.00 m. Repair works.

  •  Culvert in km 110.584

Redevelopment of the engineering structure — a three-opening culvert in km 110.584, with the effective length of 3x16.42 m, horizontal clearance 3x1.00 m and vertical clearance 1.00 m. The demolition of the existing structure with its facilities and the construction of a new culvert from pre-cast box components in its place.

  • Culvert in km 114.049

Redevelopment of the engineering structure — a single-opening railway culvert in km 114.049, with the effective length of 19.13 m, horizontal clearance 2.00 m and vertical clearance 2.00 m and a three-opening road culvert in km 114.049, with the effective length of 3x7.60 m and a diameter of 3xф1500. Demolition of the existing structure frames with facilities and construction of a new railway culvert from pre-cast box components and a road culvert from pre-cast concrete pipe components in its place.

  • Culvert in km 114.361

Redevelopment of the engineering structure — a two-opening railway culvert in km 114.361, with the effective length of 2x17.33 m, horizontal clearance 2x2.00 m and vertical clearance 2.00 m and a three-opening road culvert in km 114.361, with the effective length of 3x7.60 m and a diameter of 3xф1500. Demolition of the existing structure frames with facilities and construction of a new railway culvert from pre-cast box components and a road culvert from pre-cast concrete pipe components in its place.

  • Culvert in km 116.883

Redevelopment of the engineering structure — a single-opening railway culvert in km 116.883, with the effective length of 20.62 m, horizontal clearance 1.50 m and vertical clearance 1.50 m and a single-opening road culvert in km 116.883, with the effective length of 9.60 m and a diameter of ф1200. Demolition of the existing structure frames with facilities and construction of a new railway culvert from pre-cast box components and a road culvert from pre-cast concrete pipe components in its place.

  • Culvert in km 117.775

Redevelopment of the engineering structure — a two-opening railway culvert in km 117.775, with the effective length of 2x21.66 m, horizontal clearance 2x1.50 m and vertical clearance 1.50 m. The demolition of the existing structure with its facilities and the construction of a new railway culvert from pre-cast box components in its place.

  • Culvert in km 119.842

Redevelopment of the engineering structure — a three-opening railway culvert in km 119.842, with the effective length of 3x21.66 m, horizontal clearance 3x1.50 m and vertical clearance 1.50 m. The demolition of the existing structure with its facilities and the construction of a new railway culvert from pre-cast box components in its place.

  • Culvert in km 122.285

Redevelopment of the engineering structure — a two-opening railway culvert in km 122.285, with the effective length of 2x19.86 m, horizontal clearance 2x1.50 m and vertical clearance 1.50 m and a two-opening road culvert in km 122.285, with the effective length of 2x6.60 m and a diameter of 2xф1000. Demolition of the existing structure frames with facilities and construction of a new railway culvert from pre-cast box components and a road culvert from pre-cast concrete pipe components in its place.

  • Culvert in km 122.482

Redevelopment of the engineering structure — a three-opening railway culvert in km 122.482, with the effective length of 3x17.33 m, horizontal clearance 3x2.00 m and vertical clearance 2.00 m and a single-opening road culvert in km 122.482, with the effective length of 6.60 m and a diameter of ф1500. Demolition of the existing structure frames with facilities and construction of a new railway culvert from pre-cast box components and a road culvert from pre-cast concrete pipe components in its place.

 

  • Rail-over-road bridge in km 108.779

Redevelopment of the engineering structure — single-span rail-over-road bridge in km 108.779 with the total length of 28.60 m, span length 17.20 m and structure width 12.60 m. The demolition of the existing structure frame with facilities and construction of a new rail-over-road bridge with the composite steel and concrete frame (steel beams covered with concrete).

  • Rail-over-road bridge in km 113.161

Redevelopment of the engineering structure — single-span rail-over-road bridge in km 113.161 with the total length of 27.62 m, span length 11.30 m and structure width 12.84 m. The demolition of the existing structure frame with facilities and construction of a new rail-over-road bridge with the composite steel and concrete frame (steel beams covered with concrete).

 

  • Bridges in km 108.654

Redevelopment of the engineering structure — single-span bridge in km 108.654 with the total length of 22.70 m, span length 11.30 m and structure width 12.60 m. The demolition of the existing structure frame with facilities and construction of a new bridge with the composite steel and concrete frame (steel beams covered with concrete).

  • Bridges in km 117.216

Redevelopment of the engineering structure — two-span bridge in km 117.216 with the total length of 35.00 m, span length 11.80 m and structure width 12.60 m. The demolition of the existing structure frame with facilities and construction of a new bridge with the composite steel and concrete frame (steel beams covered with concrete).

  • Bridges in km 120.954

Redevelopment of the engineering structure — single-span bridge in km 120.954 with the total length of 22.70 m, span length 11.30 m and structure width 12.60 m. The demolition of the existing structure frame with facilities and construction of a new bridge with the composite steel and concrete frame (steel beams covered with concrete).

  • Bridges in km 113.449

Redevelopment of the engineering structure — four-span bridge in km 113.449 with the total length of 107.85 m, span length 23.88 m + 24.35 m + 24.35 m + 23.88 m and structure width 12.82 m. The demolition of the existing structure frame with facilities and construction of a new bridge with the composite steel and concrete frame (steel beams covered with concrete).

 

The modernisation is to adapt the structures to the possible passenger train speed increase to 250 km/h at the line.
